This website is dedicated first and foremostly to a small,  very energetic,  toy dog,  known to all as the POMERANIAN.  Secondly,  it is dedicated to TWO wonderful ladies who are largely responsible for my husband and i becoming adoptive  "POM"  parents.  The first lady is ELLEN SMITH,  owner of PALISADES POMERANIANS,  located in Merced,  California.  We met Ellen at a dog show in April of 2005 in Merced.  We were looking for a small dog to share our lives with and when we were at the show watching the POMERANIANS  perform in the ring,  we fell in love with the breed.  After the show,  Ellen invited us to her house to see what a variety of POMS she and other breeders had at her house and what each of the breeders had available for adoption.  When we arrived at her home,  she had a backyard full of POMERANIANS.  What a sight!  She and the other breeders showed us what they had available for adoption and we just fell in love with a 2 year old Red Sable female POM,  owned by Ellen,  named  PALISADES LARAJUS MYSTIC RING, known to all as MYSTIE.  By the end of the day,  we were signing adoption papers on MYSTIE,  and were learning quite a lot about how to care for her and live with her.

Ellen,  since that day,  we have become close friends as well as competitors in the show ring.  Ellen,  when we met you,  we didn't know very much about POMERANIANS  and we knew nothing about how to care,  train,  groom,  or live with a POM.  All we did know was that we wanted to share our lives with a small breed dog that we could keep in the house.

Since that day in April of 2005,  Ellen,  you have taught us how to care and handle POMS.  You have shown us how to train, show and groom our little POMS  and we continue to learn from you every day we have the opportunity to know you and be your friends.  Ellen,  we have shared a lot of hilariously funny times as well as some very heartbreaking times in the short time we have known each other, and through it all,  our friendship has endured and grown stronger each day.  You have even entrusted a few of your precious POMS to us  and have even let us keep a few of them for short visits.  For that confidence in our ability to care for your little ones,  THANK YOU.

The next lady,  TRILVIE HAYNES,  who is the owner of KITSAN POMERANIANS,  in Redding, California.  Trilvie,  we wish to dedicate a very special place on this site.  TRILVIE, you were one of those other breeders we met at Ellen's in April 2005.  Trilvie,  if it were not for your confidence that we could succeed at raising and showing POMS,  we wouldn't be where we are today,  with 4 of our own POMS,  showing 2 of them.

Trilvie,  thank you very much for a friendship that has flourished and grown strong since that day in April 2005.  Thank you also for all of the help and many years of experience in raising,  breeding,  and showing POMERANIANS  that you have so freely given us to help us get started in our breeding program and showing careers.  We know that we can call on you if we have a question or problem relating to the care,  raising,  and showing of POMERANIANS, and with your many years of POM expertise,  you will probably have the answer or a remedy for us.

So,  to both of these wonderful ladies,  THANK YOU again for the wonderful friendships and all of the knowledge you both have imparted to us so freely.  Our hope is that we may continue to strengthen those friendships and may they NEVER end.  Also,  our hope is that through this website,  we may be able to share some of the knowledge about the POM that we have gotten from you with other people who may be at the same place we were,  in April of 2005.  May our friendships never end and may we all continue to have fun with our POMS and with each other in and out of the show ring.

Gratefully your friends
Tom &  Mary Lou
